Easy to install
Fiat 500 key covers can be a great method to modernize your keys. You can choose from a wide range of styles and colors to find the one that matches your personality. Install them yourself within ten minutes. You only need a screwdriver, and some patience. The first step is to remove the cover. It must be removed before the new cover can be installed.
Once you have removed the old cover After that, use a flathead screwdriver to pull out the four main attachment clips on the passenger side of the fob assembly. They are marked in red on the picture below. Also note the locating tab slots, which are yellow, that require disengagement as well.
After taking the battery off, replace it with a brand new # CR2032 3 volt coin cell battery. The "+" side of the battery should face the opening on the fob, and the "side that is "-" side should face the rubber buttons.
Attach the mirror cover to the passenger side by aligning locating tabs. Once you've completed this, put the fob for the driver side back in your car and test it by pressing the push button on the front of the car key. If everything is working properly the car should turn on the parking lights, and the doors will automatically lock.

The key fob is equipped with a microchip in it that is used to communicate with the Body Control Module (BCM). When you insert the key into your Fiat vehicle, it presses the ignition switch, which serves as an "key-in-ignition" reminder. The BCM will then be capable of reading the transponder that is in the key fob to verify that it's genuine.
